Tulsi Vivah is the mythological marriage of Shri Krishna. In Hindu mythology, Tulsi is believed to be an avatar of Goddess Lakshmi, and hence the marriage of God and Goddesses is celebrated with great pomp.
According to religious beliefs, on the day of Ekadashi of Ashada Shukla Paksha, Lord Vishnu goes into sleep and wake after four months on the Kartik month Ekadashi. Hence it is called Devauthani Ekadashi. Only after this, all the auspicious works begin. Tulsi Vivah is of great importance on this day. Tulsi Vivah is considered to be the most important in Hinduism. On this day Goddess Tulsi is married to the Shaligram deity. Tulsi Vivah is given importance in every house in Hinduism.
There is a legend behind the marriage of Lord Vishnu to the Tulsi plant. Tulsi was actually a woman named Vrinda, who was married to a demon king named Jalandhar. Vrinda worshiped Lord Vishnu and prayed for her husband to be invincible. No one could defeat Jalandhar because of Vrinda. Because of Jalandhar's arrogance and growing sin, Lord Vishnu violated Vrinda to defeat Jalandhar himself. Due to which the chastity of Vrinda was destroyed. Then Jalandhar was killed by Lord Shiva in a great war. When Vrinda came to know about the truth, she cursed Lord Vishnu and turned him into a black stone (Shaligram) and burnt herself at her husband's funeral. Lord Vishnu then transferred his soul to the basil plant and as a blessing, married him as Shaligram in the next life. Since then the tradition of Tulsi marriage came into existence.
Tulsi marriages are performed in the same way as normal bride and groom are married in Hindu customs. The Tulsi plant is decorated like a bride on this day. The devotees who perform the Tulsi wedding ceremony receive the special blessings of Lord Vishnu.

After this, do as much Shringar adornment of holy basil as you can.
