Kali is the first form in ten Mahavidyas. She is worshiped to remove all the troubles and sorrows of life. Insulting the mother in any way as Kali means to endanger one's own life. Mata had taken this form to kill the demons. Mother is worshiped to attain Siddhi. Kali Mata is an instantly happy and instantly angry goddess. Therefore, before their practice or becoming a devotee, it is necessary to be exclusive and holy with deeds.

Kali is wearing a skull garland around her neck, a sword in her hand, a trident in the other hand and a severed head in the third hand and rides the corpse. Kali led the gods to victory in the deity-demon war. His anger was calmed only when Shiva lay down at his feet.

There are three main places of Kalika: - At Kalighat in Kolkata which is also a Shaktipeeth. The Garhkalika Temple at Bhairavgadh in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh and the Temple of Mahakali situated on the hill of Pavagadh in Gujarat are miraculously fulfilling wishes.
