Nowadays hotel business is growing at a very fast speed. Hotel, Restaurant, and resorts have become an important part of modern life style. Hotels, resorts and restaurants have become important center. For the arrangement of auspicious and social ceremonies like marriage, private parties, and domestic festivals, so the construction of all these buildings should be done according to the principles of vastu.

The first important thing is to select the right land for hotel or restaurant. The land should be square or rectangular. An extended Ishan kona gives good results.

A pond, lake, swimming pool or flowing water river in the north - east direction of hotel or resort enhances the prosperity of business. In `vishava karma prakash' VIII chapter shloka 15,17 it has been clearly mentioned that North or North East direction is the most appropriate direction for the water resource in any building. Underground water resource or boring should be kept in North direction as it helps to get popularity. One will never face lack of money and gets financial stability. A fountain which has music and light, should be in North East direction. It helps in maintaining positive energy in the premises. People get attracted towards the hotel. Swimming pool should never be in the center of the land or in South West direction. Any swimming pool or water body in the center part of the land brings poverty and ruin.

Maximum construction work should be done in South-West part of the Hotel or Resort. North and East parts should be kept open and free. South, West wall should be high, strong and heavy. A boundary wall around the hotel is must. The main entrance door is best if kept in North, Ishan kona East Ishan kona or East side.

A kitchen is a compulsory place in any Restaurant, hotel and Resort. It should be made in Agneya kona. If it is not possible, Vayavya sthan can also be used for kitchen, but in this case cooking platform or cooking gas stove should be in south-East direction. Otherwise, there will always be a fear of fire, accident or more expenditure. The kitchen should never be constructed in Nairatya, Ishan, or north and center part of the land. The owner of the hotel may face bankruptcy and wastage of food items, if the kitchen is in North-East direction. If it is in South-West direction, it causes enmity and hostility in relations. Kitchen in North direction is not good for financial growth. The cooking range should be in East and South of the kitchen and while cooking food the cook should face East direction.

The best location for hotel or dining hall in the hotel is west direction. The second best place is East direction. If the kitchen is in South East direction, the dining hall should be made in East or South directions. If the kitchen is in North West, the dining hall should be in West direction. But if there is shortage of place, the kitchen can be made in North direction. The dining table should be either rectangular or square shaped. The length of the table should not be more than the two times width in the dining hall. For example if the width is 4 feet, the length can be maximum 8 feet but not more than that. The measurement of the table should not be uneven, as like (width 3 feet, length 7 feet) as it generates hostility among the users. The number of chairs, placed with dining table should be in even numbers. Glasses of water should be kept in North East side, wash basin should also be placed in North East side. The doors of the dining hall should be painted in yellow colour (colour of Jupiter), because Lord Jupiter has the domain on dining room. The walls of the dining room should be either light yellow, cream, orange as these colours are auspicious. Dining table should not be kept right under the beam as it enhances the tension while eating.

Nairatya kona should be used for keeping heavy objects in a hotel or resort. The store house in which the food items are kept should be free of moisture and seepage. The store house for food items can be made in Vayavya kona, as it is good for regular supply of food items. So, the items which are required on regular basis should be stored in North-West direction. Oil, ghee, gas, cylinder, kerosene should be kept in South or Agneya kona of the dining hall. The containers of food items should not be kept empty in the store house. There should always be some ingredients left in the containers, till the new items are filled. The doors of store house should be kept in auspicious grid of North or East side.

The resting rooms for the passengers should be made in West, South or South West direction of the Hotel. The guest room should not be kept in Brahmasthan. Brahmasthan absorbs too much of energy, so this place is not suitable for peace and rest. Attached bathrooms, bathtubs, latrines, change room with the rooms should be in North West or West directions. South-West or West corners should never be kept empty. The beds should be placed in South-West direction of the room. The beds should not be placed in such a manner that the person's feet or head face the door directly. One gets name, fame and fortune if one keeps his head towards west while sleeping, face in east side gives mental peace religious mind set and enhancement in wealth, health and fortune. The bed should never be kept under the beam. As it directly puts vedha on the body and it is very harmful for health. Single double bed mattress should be used on double bed and the bedroom door should be single. The entrance door should be made in North or East direction. The dressing table in the bed room should be kept in such a manner that no part of body is visible in the mirror, otherwise that body part will suffer. The interiors, colours of the walls and mattresses in the bed rooms should be attractive, elegant, interesting and presentable. Pleasant pictures should be hanged in the room. The pictures of green plants, flowers, grass are very auspicious. The garden of flowers should be made in North or East direction. As the presence of flowers enhances the creative energy, maintains the balance in environment and gives freshness, agility and quickness in body and mind.

The director, owner or the organizers of the hotel should be seated in South West direction or Nairatya kona in the Hotel, as these people maintain the hold over the hotel activities. The seat of the manager or the owner of the hotel should be kept in such a way that he faces either North or East direction. It is always beneficial to make the arrangement of the room according to the principles of Vastu. Administrative building should be kept in East direction.

The best place for the account section in the hotel is North or North East direction, because Kuber devta (lord of wealth) rules this direction. Kuber is the treasurer of Goddess Laxmi (who brings prosperity) and lord Jupiter rules North East direction. That is why it is advised to make account section in North East direction, so that there should be continuous flow of money. Cashier should face North side while working. Cash box should be opened in North side.

The place for Generator, air condition plant, Electronic gadget plant, main switch board and electronic machines etc should be made in South East direction.

The reception hall should be neat, clean, airy and properly lighted. It is beneficial to place it in North East. The receptionist should face North east direction. The north east direction of the room should be kept open. The entire slope of the land should also be kept towards North - east direction of the hotel.
